Stop Blaming God

One of the hardest truths to accept is that many of the problems we blame on God are actually the fruit of our own decisions.
We ignore wisdom, then complain about the consequences.
We spend money we don’t have, then ask why God hasn’t blessed our finances.
We destroy relationships with our words, then wonder why everyone keeps leaving.
We ignore God’s direction for months, even years, then suddenly expect Him to clean up everything because we finally decided to pray.
God isn’t the author of our bad decisions.
Too often we treat Him like an emergency contact instead of our heavenly Father. We disappear when life is good, then expect immediate answers when everything falls apart. We cry, “God, where are You?” when the better question might be, “Where have I been?”
We do the same thing with people.
“Nobody ever helps me.”
Really?
When was the last time you called them just to see how they were doing? When was the last time you encouraged them when you didn’t need anything in return? Relationships were never meant to be withdrawals without deposits. If the only time people hear from you is when you’re in trouble, don’t be surprised when the relationship begins to feel one-sided.
God isn’t looking for temporary obedience born out of desperation.
He’s looking for daily faithfulness born out of love.
We often want God to erase years of poor decisions because we behaved ourselves for a week. We want the harvest without changing the seed. But God, in His mercy, teaches us something better. He invites us to start planting differently today. The moment you begin sowing obedience, humility, forgiveness, generosity, and faithfulness, you’re planting a different future than the one your old choices were producing.
That’s the hope of the gospel.
Your past may explain today’s harvest…
But it doesn’t have to determine tomorrow’s.
Every act of obedience plants a new seed.
Every step toward Christ changes the direction of your life.
God isn’t standing back waiting for you to fail.
He’s standing with open arms, ready to help you grow once you’re willing to stop blaming everyone else and start following Him.
Here’s the blunt truth: Stop blaming God for the harvest of seeds YOU planted.

1. What consequences in my life might be calling me to change my choices instead of questioning God’s goodness?
2. What seeds can I begin planting today that will produce the kind of harvest God desires for my life?
