The Shepherds Black Sheep

I’ve been called divisive. Too blunt. Too direct. Too confrontational. Truthfully…I’m okay with that. The Gospel has always been offensive to those who reject it. Even those within the four walls of the Church. Not because truth is cruel. But because truth confronts the lies we’ve become comfortable believing.
That’s how #BiblicallyBlunt started. Not because I wanted to offend people. Because I wanted to wake people up and call fake out as what it is. Those people that will like a Pastors five word post because it’s a Pastor that posted it, but won’t reach out to the person sitting across the aisle in Church. Because it “wasnt on my heart…”. To the one that’ll share their expert level “faith“…but are then the same people that will get upset if their seat in the front row is taken by someone. Or are part of the problem that they complained about.
The Church doesn’t need more people trying to blend in. It needs more people willing to stand out for Christ. Somewhere along the way we’ve become terrified of being labeled the “black sheep.” We worry about losing followers, losing influence, losing invitations, losing friends. Losing position.
Jesus wasn’t crucified because He fit in. He was crucified because He refused to compromise. The world acts like the world. The question that should keep us up at night is…why do so many believers look exactly the same?
We’ve become experts at making sinners feel unwelcome while making comfortable Christians feel affirmed.
We’ve made the door smaller than the cross and then wonder why fewer people are walking through it. Maybe the world doesn’t need more sheep trying to impress other sheep. It doesn’t need more goats being applauded for being goats.
Maybe it needs more shepherd-hearted believers willing to chase the one. People who will lovingly confront sin. People who will boldly preach truth.
The Shepherd left the ninety-nine for the one. Yet too many of the ninety-nine spend their time criticizing the search party.
If following Christ means you don’t fit the expectations of religious culture…wear it well. If speaking truth means you’re misunderstood… keep speaking. But don’t be a wolf who just throws on a sheep skin to get applause or money from the flock.
The Shepherd never asked you to fit in with the flock.
Here’s the blunt truth: If following Jesus makes you the black sheep… you’re in good company with Paul, the prophets, and Christ Himself.

1. Am I blending into culture because it’s comfortable…or standing for Christ because He’s worthy?
2. If people reject me, is it because of my attitude…or because I refused to compromise God’s truth?
